今次の戦争は少数の人々に富と地位とを与へたが国家の柱石たる一般国民は高い税金と強制貯金に駆り立てられ然も生活必需品の缺乏によって日常生活は極度に脅かされるに到った。

While the war brought wealth and status to a few, the general public, the backbone of the nation, was burdened with high taxes and forced to save money, while the scarcity of daily necessities threatened daily life to an extreme degree.

今やこの悲惨状態はわれ空軍の猛爆撃によって益々深められて来た。

Now this misery has been increasingly deepened by the fierce bombing by our air force.

我々はこの様な日本国民に対し全く同情に堪えないのである。

We cannot put into words the sympathy we have for the Japanese people.

然し我米軍は軍首脳者達が武器を捨てるまで絶対に攻撃を継続するのである。

But our forces will absolutely continue to attack until the military leadership lay down their arms.
