米軍がルソン島に上陸を敢行する四日前日本は既に米軍の尨大なる船団の北上を発見したが日本海軍は殆んどこれに反撃を加へ様としなかった為米軍はたやすく「リンガエン湾」上陸に成功した。

Four days before the U.S. forces dared to land on Luzon Island, the Japanese had already discovered a huge fleet of U.S. ships moving northward, but the Japanese Navy did little to counterattack, so the U.S. forces easily succeeded in landing in “Lingayen Gulf”.

これは日本の海軍が全く頼りのないものになった事を示すものでその為補給路は完全に遮断され増援の道もなく諸君が苦戦に陥らなければならぬ結果となった。

This showed that Japan's navy had become completely unreliable, and as a result, supply routes were completely cut off, leaving you without avenues for reinforcements and forcing you into a difficult situation.

諸君がかかる未曽有の苦境に直面している時東京ラジオは大東亜戦争開始以来八拾名以上の日本海軍將官が死亡したと放送した。

While you were facing this unprecedented predicament, Tokyo Radio broadcast that more than eighty Japanese Navy admirals had died since the beginning of the Greater East Asia War.
