六月十一日、米軍に投降後、グアム島の米海軍将校と雑談する二人の日本軍将校。

この二人に率いられた三十五名の日本兵は、抵抗約一ヶ年後ついに降伏した。

On June 11, after surrendering to U.S. Marine and Navy units on Guam, Japanese POWs were escorted by officers to a POW camp on the island.

三十五名よりなる日本兵は約一年間密林に立ち込って抵抗を継続した。

The Japanese soldiers, consisting of 35 men, remained in the jungle for about a year and continued to resist.

六月四日Ｂ29の空襲に依り黒煙天に沖する神戸市。

Kobe City is covered in black smoke from a B-29 air raid on June 4.

超要塞機隊は同市埠頭地区に焼夷弾を投下し赫赫たる戦果をあげた旨、第二十一爆撃隊司令部より発表した。

陣頭のバックナー将軍

六月十八日沖縄の前線において日本軍の砲弾を受けて戦死した米第十軍司令官サイモン、ボリヴァー、バックナー中将最後の英姿「右端」将軍は第六海兵師団の前進観測所で攻撃督励中戦死した。

General Simon Bolivar Buckner was killed by Japanese shells on the front lines of Okinawa on June 18, the gallant figure "on the right" commander of the U.S. Tenth Army, was killed in action at a forward observation post of the 6th Marine Division while encouraging the attack.
