六月十八日沖縄の前線において日本軍の砲弾を受けて戦死した米第十軍司令官サイモン、ボリヴァー、バックナー中将最後の英姿「右端」将軍は第六海兵師団の前進観測所で攻撃督励中戦死した。
General Simon Bolivar Buckner was killed by Japanese shells on the front lines of Okinawa on June 18, the gallant figure "on the right" commander of the U.S. Tenth Army, was killed in action at a forward observation post of the 6th Marine Division while encouraging the attack.
