諸君が戦争ニュースに接する時或は次の如き疑問を抱く様な事はないだろうか。

When you receive war news, do you ever have the following questions?

若し米国艦隊が昭和拾七年と同拾八年に実質上撃滅されているものであるならばいかがして日海軍は連合軍のソロモン、ニューギニア、サイパン、等の奪還占領を阻止し得なかったであろうか。

If the U.S. fleet had been virtually destroyed in 1942 and 1943, why has the Japanese Navy been unable to prevent the Allied Forces from recapturing and occupying the Solomons, New Guinea, Saipan, and other areas?

若し米艦隊の主勢力が全滅したのならば果して米軍が物資兵力を海路一万余キロの比島に揚陸せしめ得たであろうか。

If the main force of the U.S. fleet had been wiped out, would the U.S. forces have been able to land their troops and supplies on the Philippines, which is more than 10,000 kilometers by sea?

若し連合軍が比島沖海戦において致命的打撃を被ったのならば米軍が続々兵力を比島に上陸せしめ戦果を同諸島に拡張せしめつつあるのはどうしてであらうか。

If the Allied Forces suffered a fatal blow in the Battle of the Philippines, why is it that the U.S. forces are landing troops one after another on the Philippines and expanding military gains throughout the archipelago?

どうして日海軍は米艦隊に比島近海の制海権を恣にさせているのであろうか。

Why does the Japanese Navy allow the U.S. fleet free reign to control the waters around the Philippines?

諸君がこの様な点を熟慮された場合軍部當局の戰況發表でも尤もだと思はれる事ばかりではないのではないだろうか。
